2024, The Year Everyone Got Married!

“Are the singles still breathing?” has probably been the most repeated question this year.

Weddings are happening left, right, and center and everyone’s literally tying the knot! 2024 has become the designated year for weddings, and we're all just watching the many highlights.

Just last week, there were two announcements of celebrity engagements, one announcement of an upcoming celebrity wedding, and the celebration of my friend's wedding. Those are just the ones I know about! Who knows how many more weddings have been flying under the radar?

"Your next-door neighbor might be getting married tomorrow since no family is left out of this wedding extravaganza. So, do yourself a favour and get a dress or suit because you'll need it!"

Ultimately, this is a really beautiful season!

But hey, while we’re surrounded by all these lovebirds, let’s take a moment to appreciate the single life!

Marriage is amazing and it never misses those who walk with God and desire it. As Psalm 37:4 rightly says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."

However, being single is great too!

It's the one chance we have in life to grow, learn, and become the best versions of ourselves without too many responsibilities.

We get to chase our dreams, attain the heights we desire, build destiny relationships, improve our spiritual health and physical well being, deal with our character flaws, develop healthy habits and just work hard to have a future we can be proud of.

It's such a a great time to invest in what tomorrow would look like.

To me, the journey from singleness to marriage is like taking a test in school. Some people finish and hand in their papers quickly, while others take their time, enjoying the extra minutes they have. Both approaches are fine by the way.

Taking your time in singleness doesn't mean you've failed. It's a crucial period in life, meant to be enjoyed and not rushed through.

Yeah... I know that for many Christian singles, there's a funny fear of not getting married or having a family before Jesus' second coming. But who really knows God's timing? God alone! That's why we must believe that "our expectations will not be cut short" and "God will fulfill the desires of our hearts according to His will."

Instead of dwelling on what’s missing, let's celebrate what we have, trusting in what's coming.

So, here’s to everyone enjoying the single life: Breathe! Enjoy this phase! And believe that God’s timing is flawless! When the moment is right, everything will click into place. Until then, let’s keep thriving, growing, and shining in our singleness..

Cheers!!!

See you on the 1st of August!
